A fresh look into the contemporary art world through Kingsley's gallery diaries, explorations of artist through urban cities, and reflective essays on art culture.
I grew up watching my grandmother paint. I don’t think I understood then that artwork was something people did seriously, intentionally, as a way of seeing the world, I just knew coloring within the lines was fun and staining all my clothes was a given. Art was always just there in my life, something in the air of my childhood that I never thought to question.
At some point it became something more deliberate. I started wanting to understand not just how to make it but how to be around it. How to walk into a room full of work and actually know what I was doing there. This blog is my attempt to figure that out, one gallery at a time.
